Super Mario Land in New York
For the launch of Super Mario 3D Land, Nintendo recreated a Super Mario level in real life on Times Square. The level was complete with warp pipes and colourful foam pads for kids to jump on.
Lots of people showed up in costume, living their dream of walking around in a Super Mario level for real. Obviously, the warp pipes did not actually work, but that did not make the experience any less fun.
